Waterford Treasures sourced a pair of Regency mirrors dated about 1810, for public display. The mirrors had a trade label on the back confirmed the mirrors were made by Richard Jackson of 5 Essex Bridge.
During the week of 20 to 24 August, 6 Irish people were successfully trained in iron smelting by Lee Sauder. On the weekend, a further 12 teams smelted local bog ore into iron. The furnaces had an unheard of 100% success rate and over 150kg of iron was made. About 800 to 1000 people attended the event. The event was advertised in local newspapers, on radio, via social media and a RTE Nationwide team recorded the event the whole day on Sunday 26 August.

The Bulfin Heritage Cycle Rally 2018, was held on August 24th & 25th as a Heritage Week event. Taking its inspiration from William Bulfin, who cycled around Ireland in 1902, recording hidden heritage sites of interest on his journey, this year's Rally celebrated the Return of the Seven Septs of Laois.
