If you have an idea for a heritage project and are not sure how or where to start, we encourage you to check out some of the following resources
Contact your local Heritage Officer
Your local Heritage Officer will be happy to provide you with initial guidance on your project. They have a wealth of experience and can help you identify useful resources within your locality and country wide. Heritage Officers are based in the offices of each of the local authorities.
Tour this website
For resources and inspiration we encourage you to tour the Heritage Council website which contains reports, publications and documents covering all aspects of heritage. The website also provides information on initiatives, programmes and services – ongoing and completed – as well as links to other national and international heritage-based organisations.
Talk to previous grant recipients
Ask individuals or groups who have undertaken grant-aided projects to give you some pointers, see our previous grant recipients here.
Check out our previously funded projects
Also featured on our website are projects that we have previously funded through our various grants schemes. These projects will give you an opportunity to examine, build on and complement existing work carried out in recent years.
Read the guidelines for application
The guidelines and criteria for grant applications provide a framework in which to present your project application and give an idea of what is required even if you are not applying this year. These guidelines are updated annually so please keep abreast of any updates by subscribing to our monthly newsletter or by checking the Grants sections regularly.
Keep in touch
Subscribe to our monthly email newsletter to keep up-to-date with heritage news and events and important announcements regarding our grants schemes. We also encourage our readers to submit heritage related news or events information that they would like to share.
We are happy to deal with your enquiries and to learn more about your projects. We are currently building a Frequently Answered Questions section on this website to add to the store of information we can share. You can email us at at firstname.lastname@example.org
