Organisations
All Ireland Heritage Skills Programme
A collaboration between The King’s Foundation, The Heritage Council, the Department for Communities’ Historic Environment Division (HED), National Museums NI (NMNI) and Construction Industry Training Board NI (CITB NI) which aims to elevate individuals within the construction sector to become experts in their chosen craft.
The programme is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund (UK), thanks to National Lottery players with further support from The Heritage Council and Department for Communities (NI).
Heritage and the Sustainable Development Goals
The Heritage Council’s work aligns with a broad spectrum of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), recognising that heritage conservation and sustainability are deeply interconnected.
Advisory Committee on the Restitution and Repatriation of Cultural Heritage
Expert committee tasked with advising the Government and preparing national guidelines on the restitution of cultural objects in Ireland that may have been illegally or unethically elicited or traded.
Puffin Rock Habitats
Puffin Rock Habitats is an educational project between The Heritage Council and Cartoon Saloon to promote greater awareness and understanding of Ireland's nature and biodiversity amongst families with young children, through a touring exhibition, workshops and activity book.
National Hedgerow Week 2026
National Hedgerow Week is a partnership between Teagasc and the Heritage Council. The week aims to raise awareness of the importance of hedgerows for biodiversity, farming, climate and heritage.

The National Biodiversity Data Centre is a national organisation which collects and manages data on Ireland’s biodiversity in order to document our wildlife resource and to track how it is changing over time.
