Damir Hajduk, originally from Croatia, joined the European Commission in September 2018 at the position of Head of Unit, Retail and Online Services in DG GROW. Damir has extensive experience in private sector where he held senior management positions in cable TV, news agency Reuters and books retail.

Prior to joining the European Commission, he was chairing European Regulators Group for Audiovisual (ERGA). Damir holds a masters’ degree in economics. Together with his colleagues, Damir helped organise the delivery of eight workshops for local governments and retailers in the last two years, where the exchange of best practices on how to revitalise the retail sectors in cities and town centres was fostered.
