8 Museums have been awarded full accreditation under the Heritage Council's Museum Standards Programme for Ireland at a ceremony in Kilkenny Castle.
The Heritage Council has learnt of the recent death of one of its first board members, Professor Emer Colleran.
Under Europe for Citizens Town Twinning funding, a community or cultural group can apply for a small grant to fund 25+ European visitors to take part in a series of events in their locality, celebrating European and local culture, heritage, citizenship, solidarity and debate.
