Dublin City Council is very pleased to launch the second volume from a pioneering research project on Dublin city's twentieth century architecture. This project is an action of the Dublin City Heritage Plan co-funded by the Heritage Council.
In 2019, the Heritage Council's budget allocation will be directed towards achieving some of the objectives in our new Strategic Plan.
The Heritage Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Virginia Teehan as its new Chief Executive with effect from 1 February 2019. Ms Teehan joins the Heritage Council with a wealth of experience, having acted as Director of Cultural Projects at University College Cork, prior to which she served as Director of the Hunt Museum in Limerick. She will begin in her new role following the retirement of serving Heritage Council Chief Executive, Michael Starrett in January.
We are delighted to welcome Lorcan Scott as our new Wildlife Officer. With his background as a Park Ranger; Co Carlow’s first Heritage Officer; District Conservation Officer (DCO) with the NPWS for Carlow, Kilkenny & Wexford and as Peatlands DCO for Leinster and Munster, Lorcan is great addition to the Heritage Council Team.
