The Heritage Council has today joined over 90 other heritage organisations across the globe in becoming a member of the Climate Heritage Network (CHN). The network’s purpose is to mobilise the art, culture, and heritage sectors to drive climate action.
The Heritage Council has today announced the projects to be funded this year under its Heritage Stewardship Fund, a new scheme that supports staff in local authorities, public bodies, state agencies and third-level educational institutes working on heritage programmes.
The Heritage Council, along with Minister of State Malcolm Noonan TD today (15.03.23) announced that 11 historic towns will share €1.3m funding under the 2023 Historic Towns Initiative (HTI). The funding will help to provide jobs through heritage-led regeneration, will aid the rebuilding of local economies and address vacancy with heritage as the consistent focal point.
