Callan Heritage Regeneration Project 2020
Remedial work on the railing and stone elements of Saint Mary’s Church railing boundary on Green Street and Mill Street, and, work to Kings River footbridge in Callan, Co Kilkenny.
The work will greatly enhance the setting of the St. Mary's Church, while also benefiting the public realm of Green Street and the town Centre. These railings and stone elements have deteriorated significantly in recent years, and these works will conserve them for the future. The works has been undertaken to best conservation practice, and show cases the necessary skill set and crafts. The works has employed a specialist stone mason and ironworker, and archaeologist, providing much need support for our craft community in Covid times.
