Architecture Officer at The Heritage Council

This is a 1 year fixed term contract.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties of the role include but are not limited to;

• Supporting the achievement of objectives which relate to built heritage as outlined in Our Place in Time the Heritage Council’s Strategic Plan 2023-2028. (link)
• Oversight of a feasibility study relating to the establishment of a centre of excellence for heritage building skills and promoting traditional skills training with key training partners
• The development of energy efficiency policy, training and skills programmes for historic buildings.
• The development of policy on Architectural Conservation Areas (ACAs)
• Promotion of policy on the re-use of historic buildings
• Grants assessments and sign-off across a range of schemes
• Providing advice and input on heritage aspects of planning and planning policy submissions.
• Advising on the energy efficiency and maintenance of the Heritage Council HQ in Kilkenny
• Representing the Council on a range of working groups
• Other duties as may be assigned.
