Grant Scheme launched for Upland Study Visits
Financial support is now available to upland groups to carry out
facilitated study visits to improve their capacity to support sustainable development in their upland areas.
Funding is to support costs incurred by both the visitor and host communities including the services of a facilitator. This visit should be to an upland area which has a locally based group working on projects concerned with one or more issues related to upland sustainable development.
Possible topics for this visit will be determined by the applicant and could be locally led agrienvironmental schemes; community based partnership structures; path management and repair; managed controlled burning infrastructure (grouse management); visitor management and local
authority involvement; or/and community benefits from upland tourism.
