Longford County Council is inviting applications for the position of Biodiversity Officer.

Longford County Council is inviting applications for the position of Biodiversity Officer. The Biodiversity Officer will promote, manage and coordinate biodiversity-related activities in the county and will play a pivotal role in the ongoing review and implementation of the Longford Biodiversity Plan 2025-2030. The role involves engaging with local communities, businesses, schools and stakeholders to raise awareness of biodiversity across County Longford. The successful candidate will also support biodiversity projects, research, funding applications and project delivery.

This Biodiversity Officer post is part of the Heritage Council's Ceangal programme, which supports the employment of Biodiversity Officers in local authorities to strengthen biodiversity action, engagement and capacity at local level.
