We are all Engagers: making meaningful museums
- €39 - €140
The Irish Museums Association (IMA) have announced the programme for the Annual Conference 2019, to be held at Crawford Art Gallery – and additionally supported by The Glucksman, Cork Public Museum (Cork City Council), and Cork County Council Heritage Office.
Under the title ‘We are all engagers’, the conference will consider how museums can imbue audience-centred thinking within their organisational culture, in particular how we develop and reimagine collections in ways which actively engage the public and unlock our full potential as a sector by becoming more dynamic, agile, and responsive to issues of contemporary relevance.
Over thirty speakers will present papers, project slams and panel sessions at this themed two-day conference, bringing together a diverse range of voices that will discuss the shift towards a user-led philosophy in our museums, collecting around current major political and societal changes, how re-interpreting existing collections can offer new perspectives, and how museums can give voice and empower our communities.
Early bird rates are avaialble until the 4 February 2019 and IMA members can avail of further discounted registration fees so make sure your membership is up to date – or take this opportunity to join the association.
