A two-day introduction to traditional lime pointing, and basic masonry patch repairs, aimed at owners of vernacular buildings, or people wishing to learn a modern use for traditional craft knowledge.

Expect to acquire a basic, practical, working knowledge of lime pointing techniques, mortar mixing, aftercare and finishing. Whether you are aiming to use these skills to repoint a stone cottage as part of a refurbishment, or to repoint brickwork on a city home with lime, this is the course for you.

Leave with an increased knowledge and appreciation of vernacular handcrafts, buildings, and materials. Acquire a basic, practical, working knowledge of masonry patch repairs, lime pointing techniques, mortar mixing, aftercare and finishing. How to safely and skillfully carry out minor repairs and basic pointing techniques, as well as bonding and patching building masonry.

The course fee of €380 covers tuition, the use of tools and materials, and two wholesome and nutritious daily meals each day curated by the on-site chef, as well as tea, coffee and cake when it is most needed.
