The Heritage Council supports projects through grant aid and funds to carry out important activities to protect, preserve and enhance our heritage. In this section you will find information some projects we have supported.

WILDLIFE GRANT AIDED PROJECT

Bird Atlas 2007-2011 — Mapping Ireland’s Birds

This project will map all of Ireland’s and Britain’s birds during both the winter and the breeding season. The results will inform future policies and priorities for bird conservation.

Bat and Bird Survey Guidelines for Traditional Farm Buildings

Buildings in receipt of a REPS 4 Traditional Farm Buildings Grant may require a bat and/or bird survey before any works commence.

ISCOPE — Irish Scheme for Cetacean Observation and Public Education
