Draft County Roscommon Heritage Plan 2012-2016
Public Consultation
Following an initial public consultation in spring 2009, County Roscommon Heritage Forum has prepared a draft County Roscommon Heritage Plan for the years 2012-2016.
The aim of this plan is to continue to create and promote an increased knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the natural, built and cultural heritage of County Roscommon, and to conserve it for future generations.
The aim of the draft Plan is summed up in the words ‘Notice – Care – Enjoy’. The plan shall encourage people to notice the rich built, natural and cultural heritage all around them by implementing actions to collect and disseminate information on all aspects of heritage.
The plan shall encourage people to care for their heritage, by implementing actions to promote best practice in heritage conservation and management.
The plan shall encourage people to enjoy the diverse archaeology, architecture and biodiversity that the county has to offer, by implementing actions to raise awareness of our heritage.
The draft County Roscommon Heritage Plan 2012-2016, incorporates the County Roscommon Biodiversity Action Plan.
