Village Design Statements
The Heritage Council’s National Village Design Statement (VDS) Programme provides an opportunity for meaningful public participation in the Irish planning system. Below is a selection of images from villages across Ireland who have participated in the scheme.

Village Design Conference
Slane Castle, October 2008
This conference explored Irish villages, villagescapes/ townscape, their settings & the European Landscape Convention. The National Evaluation of Village Design Statements in Ireland was also launched at the conference.
