Housed in Kilkenny Castle, the internationally renowned Butler Gallery boasts a collection that traces the development of Irish art from the 1800s to date. The gallery established in 1943 has developed a reputation for its cutting edge contemporary exhibitions and the continued development of its collection. Visitors to the gallery can engage with works of leading artists of international repute through the annual exhibitions programme.
