The National Print Museum is the only organisation in Ireland actively collecting artefacts relating to the printing craft; it has a collection of over 10,000 items. It comprises artefacts relating to the hot metal industry of printing, early computers,
newspapers, a library of circa 1,000 books on printing, a photograph archive, and ephemera relating to all aspects of Irish life. One of the main highlights in the collection is a hand mould for casting letters dating from the seventeenth century similar to the mould that Gutenberg would have used in the fifteenth century.
Is é seo an t-aon eagraíocht sa tír a bhailíonn nithe a bhaineann le ceard na clódóireachta; tá breis is 10,000 díobh sa mhusaem seo. Feicfear déantúis ón dtionscal miotalóireacht te, ríomhairí luatha, nuachtáin, 1,000 leabhar ar an gclódóireacht, cartlann grianghrafanna agus cuimhneacháin ar shaol na hÉireann i gcoitinne. Ba cheart suntas a thabhairt do mhúnla láimhe lenar teilgeadh litreacha sa 17ú haois, múnla dá leithéid a bhíodh ag Gutenberg sa 15ú haois.
