The impact of the indoor environment on the preservation of our movable heritage
TCD Library and Department of Geology are hosting the final conference of the European Science Foundation Action COST D42 titled: The impact of the indoor environment on the preservation of our movable heritage. 26 countries including Ireland have been involved in the Action, undertaking field and laboratory research into indoor environmental conditions, materials technology, chemical analysis, and
standardisation.
The Conference focuses on the chemical impact of the environment on cultural artefacts, and will provide a platform to share the results with a wider community and to strengthen and promote continued global research aimed at mitigating against the environmental risks that threaten our heritage.
The Conference dates are: 8th-9th November 2010, with pre-conference field
trip options of Georgian Dublin, or Newgrange and the Boyne Valley, on 7th November 2010.
Conference Venue: Science Gallery, PACCAR Theatre, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
