Housed in the former Sisters of Mercy Convent in the heart of Ennis, Clare Museum tells the history of the region over 6,000 years using authentic artefacts, text panels, computer interactives and audio-visual presentations. The museum is a designated under the National Cultural Institutions Act 1997 and has a strong community development ethos. Through the website and community projects the collection is taken beyond the confines of the building helping to fulfil Clare County Council’s social inclusion policy.

Bhíodh Siúracha na Trócaire anso i lár bhaile na hInse. Insítear stair an cheantair thar 6,000 bliain sa mhusaem ina bhfuil déantúis láimhe agus páinéil téacsanna. Mínítear cúrsaí trí mheán na ríomhaireachta agus trí chóras clos-amharc. Ainmnítear é san Acht na nInstitiúidí Cultúrtha Naisúinta 1997 agus tá baint mhór acu le forbairt pobail tríd an suíomh idirlín agus laistigh de thionscnaimh éagsúla. Tagann sé seo le polasaí uileghabhálach an Chomhairle Chontae.
