This conference examined how the heritage resources of a town can help it recover from the recession. The event wasjointly organised by the Heritage Council’s Irish Walled Towns Network and UCC’s School of Planning and Department of Geography. Economists, planners, geographers, architects and heritage consultants from both the private and public sector talked about the role heritage can have in boosting the tourist, retail and entertainment sectors of Ireland’s mid-sized towns.
