The Pilgrim Paths project was set up by the Heritage Council in 1997. In association with local communities, its objective is the development of a network of walking routes along medieval pilgrimage paths.

The Beara Breifne Way Project
The Beara Breifne Way Project is an ambitious undertaking which will see the development of a walking and cycling route along the spine of the country, from Beara in Co. Cork to Breifne in Co. Leitrim. It follows the line of the historic march of O’Sullivan Beara in 1602.

WILDLIFE GRANT AIDED PROJECT
Bird Atlas 2007-2011 — Mapping Ireland’s Birds
This project will map all of Ireland’s and Britain’s birds during both the winter and the breeding season. The results will inform future policies and priorities for bird conservation.
