INLAND WATERWAYS FEATURED INITIATIVE
Waterway Corridor Studies
Ireland’s inland waterways do not exist in isolation. Recognising their importance to so many aspects of Irish life, the Heritage Council has undertaken Waterway Corridor Studies on the Shannon, as well as on parts of the Grand and Royal Canals.

MUSEUM & ARCHIVE INITIATIVE
The Heritage Council has invited six more museums to join the Museums Standards Programme for Ireland:
Allihies Copper Mine Museum, Cork
Athy Heritage Centre and Museum, Kildare
Dublin City Gallery
The Hugh Lane Irish Jewish Museum, Dublin
Kilmainham Gaol, Dublin
The Zoological Museum, Trinity College Dublin

EDUCATION INITIATIVE
The Marian Rollins Heritage & Education Award (I.N.T.O. & The Heritage Council of Ireland)
The Marian Rollins Heritage and Education Award is an annual award presented to individuals who make an outstanding contribution to heritage education in Irish primary schools and communities.

Over the last few years, the Heritage Council has administered large-scale funding grants to properties not in State ownership.
IRISH WALLED TOWNS GRANT
Irish Walled Towns Network (IWTN) Capital Projects Scheme
The IWTN Grants Fund aims to support the implementation of the suite of Conservation and Management Plans (CMPs) through capital works to conserve and promote historic town Walls and their settings.
