ARCHAEOLOGY INITIATIVE
Field Monument Advisor Scheme
The Heritage Council is working in partnership with Local Government and the farming community to provide advice to farmers on the management of archaeological monuments on privately owned farmland.
WILDLIFE GRANT AIDED PROJECT
ISCOPE — Irish Scheme for Cetacean Observation and Public Education
ISCOPE is run by the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group. Its aims are to increase awareness and knowledge of cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) in Irish coastal waters, and to encourage greater levels of public participation in cetacean recording.

Traditional Boat Recording Projects
Under the County Heritage Grants Scheme, the Heritage Council is funding three projects which relate to Ireland’s maritime heritage.

County Clare Traditional Boat Recording Project, with Clare County Council
The project proposes an audit and inventory of traditional boats and currachs in Co. Clare and the establishment of a priority list for their future conservation.
