The Heritage Council seeks to protect and enhance the richness, quality and diversity of our national heritage for everyone. It works with its partners to increase awareness of our national heritage.

Wildlife Grant Programme

In light of current changes the Heritage Council is reviewing its grants schemes and will be proposing a number of changes to existing schemes for 2010.  Three schemes on Heritage Research, Heritage Management, and Heritage Education Community and Outreach will run  in  2010.  Work on the criteria and  application forms  is currently underway.  Further information on these will be available during September. Welcome to the Wildlife Grants Programme. This section outlines information and guidelines to the following Wildlife Grant schemes up to 2009:

Wildlife Research: this supported projects for data collection, research and management planning relating to flora, fauna, wildlife habitats, landscapes and seascapes.

Biodiversity Fund: The Fund will support on-site habitat management activities that contribute to the protection, conservation, management and enhancement of biodiversity.

Local Biodiversity Action Plans: Supporting the preparation and implementation of Local Biodiversity Action Plans is a key priority for the Heritage Council. Such plans are instrumental in the identification and protection of our natural heritage at the local level.
