In keeping with its remit arising from The Heritage Act, 1995 and the implementation of its Strategic Plan 2007-2011, and specifically the promotion of awareness and accessibility to our national heritage, the Heritage Council is seeking to increase the dissemination of knowledge through archaeological research.

Since beginning in 2008, the INSTAR Grant Programme continues to successfully fund collaborative archaeological research projects under seven diverse thematic areas, such as cultural identity, territories and boundaries & landscape and settlement. This research can be accessed under the INSTAR Web Archive.

Currently closed for applications.
