Heritage Council
Content
The Heritage Council seeks to protect and enhance the richness, quality and diversity of our national heritage for everyone. It works with its partners to increase awareness of our national heritage.
Special Conservation Grants
Over the last few years, the Heritage Council has administered large-scale funding grants to properties not in State ownership. The conservation projects may have been advocated by the Heritage Council through the implementation of studies, and making policy recommendations to the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. These projects are generally for substantial works to conserve properties that are accessible to the public. A recent example of such a property that received funding for conservation works is Russborough House pictured above.
See our Grant Aided Projects section for examples of conservation works carried out with the assistance of The Heritage Council.
