Heritage Council

The Heritage Council seeks to protect and enhance the richness, quality and diversity of our national heritage for everyone. It works with its partners to increase awareness of our national heritage.

The Heritage Council Grants Programme


Under the 2011 Heritage Council grants Programme, applications for grants are invited under the following three schemes:

  • Heritage Research providing assistance for data collection and research relating to Ireland’s heritage;
  • Heritage Conservation & Management supporting projects that apply good heritage practice to the management of places, collections or objects and
  • Heritage Education, Community and Outreach supporting initiatives linking heritage to communities through education and outreach, promoting active engagement with and raising public appreciation of heritage. 

The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 8th October at 5.00 p.m. Please note that we do not accept applications outside this timeframe.

Applications can only be made through the Online Grants System.
