Call for Abstracts - 2nd All Ireland Mammal Symposium
This is the first call for abstracts for oral presentations and posters for the 2nd All Ireland Mammal Symposium (AIMS2012) which will be held on the 26th & 27th October 2012 an the National Botanic Gardens, Dublin, Ireland.
AIMS2012 follows on from the highly successful AIMS2009, which achieved its fundamental aspiration in that it initiated and fostered new and existing collaborations while opening up communications within the mammalian research community and facilitated important, vital networking and knowledge transfer.
AIMS2012 will further promote awareness of the conservation status of mammals on the island of Ireland and the importance of mammalian biodiversity and the need to protect their habitats on the island, especially in the light of increased proliferation of invasive species.
The Symposium will encourage growth in positive public attitudes to our mammalian wildlife heritage, continue to nurture long term links amongst state agencies and third level institutes, while allowing access for all those involved in mammal ecology and conservation in the wider community.
We invite abstracts on all aspects pertaining to the past and current (and future) natural history, ecology, biology, management, conservation, distribution and policy related aspects of mammals on the island of Ireland.
We invite abstracts for poster and/or oral presentations from new and current projects and studies and those that have made significant progress if previously presented at AIMS2009 (as either posters or presentations).
Abstracts are due no later than August 31st 2012.
Further details will be issued in due course. Invasive Species Ireland http://invasivespeciesireland.com will be hosting the web page for AIMS2012, this is under construction at present. An online registration form will be available in due course. Facebook and Twitter details will follow.
