Education is at the heart of The Heritage Councils work programme.  With knowledge comes a greater sense of responsibility and appreciation of the value of Heritage as it contributes to our quality of life.

Weekend in the Woods

30 April & 1 May
Bealkelly Oak Woods, Tuamgraney, Co Clare

Choose from 15 introductory  training courses in traditional crafts & skills including Blacksmithing, Natural Building, Herblore, Dry Stone Walling, Sugan Chair making, Longbow-making, Rustic Furniture making, Wet Felting, Wood Carving, Basketry, Dry-Stone Walling, Spinning & Weaving, Silversmithing, Coppersmithing,
Introduction to Boat Building, - and (for 8 - 14 yrs) Rustic Art / Felting & Simple Woodcrafts.

Also : Traditional Lake Boat Building (6 weekends May - June ); Plant Magic (Managing a small-holding with emphasis on biodiversity) (8 days April - Sept);  Artist Blacksmithing (8 days)

AND : improve your skills - Intermediate Level Courses 2nd & 3rd July in Natural Building, Nuno Felting, 3D Felt Making, Spinning & Weaving & Woodcarving

Autumn Weekend in the Woods :  15 introductory trad skills courses - 1st / 2nd October.
