Heritage Services

All heritage is local, particularly natural heritage, and local communities are the ultimate custodians of that heritage. The survival of our heritage often depends on action at the local level.

The Biodiversity Officers role can broadly be described as protecting, managing and enhancing the local environment by promoting awareness and understanding of the natural environment among the general public and integrating biodiversity with planning, development and management.
