Sad Passing of Chris Whitfield, Ecorys UK
The Heritage Council, on behalf of the heritage sector in Ireland, would like to extend its sincere condolences to Chris Whitfield’s family, friends and colleagues on his recent and untimely passing.
As the Senior Economist for Ecorys UK, Chris spent much of 2011 working on an important research project for the Heritage Council entitled, The Economic Value of the Historic Environment. As part of that work Chris visited Ireland on several occasions. He launched the final report in Dubln at the end of May, and spoke engagingly at a Heritage Council conference in October, on the theme of ‘Place as Resource’. Chris will be remembered fondly by all those in Ireland who met him during these visits.
