Traditional Building Skills Training

Sligo County Council in association with the Office of Public Works, County Sligo Heritage Forum and the Heritage Council will hold a series of one-day 'Introduction to Lime' Workshops at the OPW Depot, Dromahair, Co. Leitrim on the 28th and 29th November 2009.  The workshops will be led by Pat McAfee, Stonemason. Each course starts with the principles of using lime in historic buildings and then focuses on practical demonstrations and work on building, pointing, plastering, rendering and lime washing.  This course aims to provide owners with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about the ongoing maintenance and repair of their historic property. Suitable for owners of historic buildings or anyone involved in the repair of old buildings.
