Public Lecture Series 2012 - Reading the Landscape of Co. Meath

This lecture series will focus on the way in which successive phases of Irish history can be read in the Meath landscape. Each lecture will examine a specific period in Irish history and trace the inscriptions that have been left on our landscape from that period. The purpose of the series is to provide audiences with a general overview of the main events and periods in Irish history and with a perspective on how that history can be read in the landscape today. In doing so, we would like audiences to explore the past through the landscape as it exists in the present. The Meath landscape is a fascinating museum in which our history and heritage can be experienced.

Lectures will be held on successive Thursday evenings in May and June from 7.30 to 9pm at either Dowdstown House, Dalgan Park, Navan or at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Church of Ireland, St. Loman’s Street, Trim (please see programme for the location of each lecture).
